Regarding the BTCC race at Mugello on the 22nd July.
First of all, we at the BGTA want to make sure everyone has fun. To do this, we enforce rules and regulations to make for fair competition all around.
It has been determined through the use of replays and telemetry, that Champion, Jammy and Vortex were running illegal cars at some point in the event. This is a first offense, and so we ask you to please correct your cars for future races. If you are unaware of why your car is illegal, please ask a moderator.
Please also note that some liveries were not to championship standard either. You must make use of the official number boards and vinyls on your car. If you require these, please contact a BGTA official.
Second is regarding the behaviour of the drivers. During racing, can we please refrain from abusing, name calling and general swearing. It is very unpleasant, and the next offence by ANYONE will not be tolerated.
Next is regarding racing etiquette. The BTCC in real life does have contact, and unless intentional should be treated as a racing incident. If you feel you have been hit intentionally, or by through poor driving from another person, then would you please send a PM to a moderator, or make use of the stewards enquiry subforum. We will only deal with these issues if you use the official channels.
Finally, is about attitudes towards the rules. During a race, asking for the moderator in charge to alter the rules to suit you, and to confuse people about them is unacceptable. These rules have been considered, and if you are unhappy with them, raise your concern with a moderator. This issue ruined the grid line-up in two of the races. The decision of the moderator in charge is final.
Considering all of these things, the BGTA has concluded that NO points will be scored at this round. There will be NO appeal to this decision. If you have any complaints about this, please PM a BGTA official to discuss them, and do not do so through the forums.
This race is unfortunate for those who had raced by the rules. Those who mis-behaved, tried to bend the rules, and those with illegal cars, please take this message as a warning.
Thank you for reading this, and please dont hesitate to send me a message if you have any queries. Remember that the role of the BGTA is to promote fun and fairness within our championships, and that we do not take this decision lightly. We would encourage you to make any changes in time for the next round, so that all involved can enjoy the competition on a level playing field.
On behalf of the BGTA,
Marchie.
