Taking all the video evidence and the telemetry and the telemetry available, the stewards consider that the contact between GR33N and Chucky constitutes fundamently a racing incident.
From the chase cam it is possible that GR33N may have braked earlier than anticipated which may have led to the accident. The contact in both incidences is pretty hard and were damage to have been on sim I doubt either car would have escaped lightly. The stewards understand that certain corners are taken with varying velocity, that series is one such example. However, it is up the drivers to judge the speed of those around them and act accordingly.
Driving standards need to be considered here too. The initial contact happened a couple of turns earlier where GR33N made quite heavy contact with the rear of Chucky 1982. This occured again at the same spot very late in the second race resulting in jenson09 losing a podium position.
Whether you feel you can outbrake an opponent or not, it is up to YOU to judge the situation and drive respectfully. Obviously accidents will happen but these can be reduced if every driver pays attention to the situation around them and WATCHES FOR CARS BRAKE LIGHTS.
No penalty will be issued on this occasion to either driver but driving standards will be looked at extremely closely at the next event due to the high number of incidents at Sebring.
