I am not the only person who thinks a change to the points system should be made. Ok, here go's

1) Too many points are being awarded. Make it more simple;
1 - 30
2 - 26
3 - 23
4 - 20
5 - 18
6 - 16
7 - 14
8 - 13
9 - 12
10 - 11
11 - 10
12 - 9
13 - 8
14 - 7
15 - 6
16 - 5
17 - 4
18 - 3
19 - 2
20 - 1

Made that up quickly, but you get the point, less points awarded.

2) No points for the heats. I have decided to make a poll about this just to see what people think. In the first race, i got a great time in my heats, but because i was in a really hard lobby, i didn't get many points for this. That then means that i have less points than someone who got a slower time, and finished lower in the final than me.

3) Hotlaps. I think that hotlaps shouldn't be awarded to every lobby. I was in the A-final, and got a decent time, but not the best in the lobby. This time was faste rthan the hotlap time in the B final, but they got points for that time, and i didnt.

I do not know what to vote for, but I reckon the points need to have a good look over, mainly because of so many people being in the championship now.

Increase the points gap between Bottom of A and Top of B, so B can still get hotlaps, but won't overtake 8th.

And no points for hotlaps. Seems REALLy stupid to me that Marchie is faster than someone but gets less points.

all of this was said to jenson when i came up with the system, but he chose to put 50 points for first in the heats. seems silly to me.

Simply you need to put a ceiling on the amount of people allowed in the Championship,for example ..say 64 ( 8 lobbys ) or say 80 people ( 10 lobbys ).then only award points for the Race . I can't see the point of awarding points for the heats.
So 1st place gets 64 or 80, 2nd place gets 63 or 79 ..and so on..regardless of how many people turn up on the night,the maximum points are awarded according to the ceiling,like the system we have now .
Why not change the heats from a 10 lap total race time to a 10 lap qualifying session and submit your fastest time to decide what lobby your in.The 4 lap qualifying before the heat seems a bit pointless to me.

they could increase the hotlap bonus to say ten points and give it to the fastest lap of the nite. one per lobby is just unfair for reasons already stated above.

Why not instead of going 1 to 7 from Final A lets say, award the points to each lobby as seperate. so if there are Final A. B , and C they all count as in each lobby 1 to 8. I think its better that way then going down as Final A 1 to 8, Final B 9 to 16, and so on. its just my opinion

That is what is happening for the points in heats, and the reason for me questioning the points.

I think it is much more fair to give points only on final race result, and not take heats and hotlaps into account.

I just think it is unfair, that i have lower points from my heat, when clearly my heat had much faster drivers in it compared to other lobbies. If there was some system to how the heats are sorted, then there would not be a problem at all.

I was the 6th fastest driver on Sunday, but am only 8th in the standings, work that one out!

quali results choose which final you are in
5 laps qualification race (decided grid order for final)

Last season was really good with race 1 (the heats) as you guys call them being 25 laps, then race 2 being a shorter sprint 10 lap race where you had to pit and it's a really good format, so please stop trying to mess with it
the heats get alot of points because it is a longer race
The heats/race 1 are important
maybe we should be nascar style and you get points for how many laps you lead

A much better system Monk,apart from the 5 lap qualifcation race for the grid order,can't see the point of that,the grid order would already be determined by the qualification times.Just do a 1 lap parade race and go over the line in grid order.Keep it simple.We dont want any major rows with people getting pushed off or worse.Whoever hosts the room can read the positions off the site and each car can set off in order and cross the line in order for the final race.

ok everyone thinks the points are 2 high particularly for heats. Here's one possible solution the wont need to change anything else
Points for final awarded as before starting in A Final continuing down
1st 50
2nd 45
3rd 40
4th39
5th 38
6th 37
7th 36
8th 35 etc

Heats simply do the same system but lower scores.
This would be based on total race time so same as the qualifying positions then if you had a good opening session you at least get some scores
1st 25
2nd 22
3rd 20
4th 19
5th 18
6th 17 etc.

and a choice of either abolish the hotlap points or give 3 points for the fastest lap in the heats overall and 5 points for the hotlap in the final round.

SO HATS WOULD SCORE FOR TOTAL RACE TIMER, NOT POSITION IN LOBBY? BRILLIANT!
