Ok, i have said this before. I want to know everyones view on this. Many people are affected by this, and if people say they are in and do not show, it will mean last minute lobby changes like before.

I think point deductions would be fair.

Say,
10 points for first offense.
20 points for next offense.
Ban from next race for every next offense.

Remember, you have plenty of time to indicate you are out. This only aplies to those who have said in and do not turn up. Unless you have NOT said in, you do NOT have to say out.

I agree, there must be a deadline ,so if they don't show there must be a major penalty..lets face it its not hard to let someone know you cant race. The problem is that peopls say there going to race over a week in advance and when they cant make it ,can't be bothered to let any one know.

i agree in principle no shows are a pain in the ass.
but what happens when you just cant connect. i was on from 7;45 trying to connect couldnt get thru up till 8;15 got f'in mad turned off with my apologies. should i get the same ban.
Heres the scenario we put a ban on someone simply has to send a couple of messages saying i cant get on wah wah wah, but he might not even be trying ( not my case but possible )
then you'll have to have someone decide case by case who's telling the truth or not ban anyone who says they're trying

I have to say from oganistional POV I agree. Its not fun to have a list of say 24 drivers set to show and so many no show up. dont think some people realise that we set how the lobbies are going to be in advance so we know how to break the groups down for the final race. If so many don show and we have wierd numbers its changes everything and we get delays like Sunday.

If enough people agree we will set some kind of points penalty for no shows when you have agreed to race.

IF you can't show up for a reason please post so. Or of you think it's going to clash with something else preferably take that race as one of your deducted races at the end. Its going to be fairer on all if this goes through.

If there were no rules, where would we be.....?

The whole point of rules is to make it fair on everyone. In the last race, it was unfair on people who thought they were through to Final A, but were put into Final B because of less turnouts. If it is unfair, then new rules, or additional rules HAVE to be put in place. Otherwise, people will have a bad time.

This is how i would set it up;

- Penalty for people who say they are in but dont show.
- No penalty for those who say out in advance.
- If you cannot connect, then YOU MUST contact a mod, and we could possibly put you in another lobby. Unless YOU contact them before start time, you will get penalty.

These pointers make it fair. If you cannot connect, then you still have the chance to avoid penalty and we could move your lobby. If you get penalty because of no show, then not connecting is NO EXCUSE! If you do not contact a mod, then we cannot solve the lobbies. It would also be great if everyone could announce OUT atleast 1 hour before the race to give time for last second changes.

I understand, but in the last race, too many people were a no show, and this created a huge delay and ended up annoying lots of people. Something should be done, because it is unfair on people who have taken time to turn up.

This is a simple rule anyway. If you dont show up after saying in, you get punished. Simple and fair.

Ok guys ,i can see from these threads that alot of people are getting a bit upset with all the race night chaos, and it's a bit unfair to expect Jenson to sort it all out last minute and make everyone happy, after all this is mean't to be a bit of fun and this is his Championship which he's spent alot of time on.
I know this is giving him a headache changing the rules all the time but if people dont turn up or have connection problems may I make a suggestion that I think would sort out the problem.
Instead of a sprint race why not just do a qualifiying session say 8 laps(6 hot laps). It won't matter what lobby your in or if people don't turn up.All the times get submited and the Final lobbies sorted out according to the qual. times. This way the fastest will always be in lobby A and so on.You can spread out the drivers if there is and odd car left so everyone has people to race in each lobby.( if you have 3 lobbies of 8 cars and theres one car left which would be the slowest qual. time, then spread it over 4 lobbies , the points wouldn't change , you would just be spread out a bit thats all)Also this would sort out the problem of what lobby to be in at the start if people don't turn up,it wouldn't matter,as long as your in a lobby by 8pm for the start of qualifiying.
I'm not saying you should change the rules, this is just a suggestion,i'm just trying to help make things run smoother and simpler for everyone. If I ran a race this is how i'd do it.

What we have done in the past where there has been hardly anyone on is to do a similar format but run shorter races, usually two ten lappers.
But oher than that the format is fixed.

The only reason for such rule changes was to try to cope with the number of people we were expecting to take part.

As for the possibility for penalties for no-shows. This makes sense to me and I'm suprised its not come up before because it is a huge hasstle.
Anyway in my mind the series worked better last race so we will go with that again for race three.
I would ask though that people either confirm one way or another to racing in each race.
If theres a chance you can't make it dont worry and use one of your dropped races.
That is all.
