Forza2 British GT Championship

Ok, Jenson is proposing a new race format for the 3rd round, which i will go through shortly. We basically just want to know what everyone thinks about this. We are not planning to do this permenently, but if people think this is a better format, we will change it to this.

Ok, here is the new format;

- The new format will have only one Qualification, then the FINAl lobbies will be based on these times. This then means no semi-final to be done.

- The qualy will be about 4 laps. This may be increased to 5/6/7/8 depending on what people think. Then the usual final will take place.

-This means you only get points from the final race, as no semi will be done.

- The race will start at 9.00pm Sunday night. Because of the late start, people HAVE TO BE ON EXACTLY ON TIME, or the race will go on for too long!

Advantages;
- It allows people to watch Top Gear.
- Final lobbies will be decided on time, therefore it doesn't matter how many people we have, the lobbies will be easier to sort out.
- People have more chance of being in the correct final, you cannot be hit off in qualifying.
- Shorter delays because the finals will be easier to sort.

Disadvantages;
- The race could go on for too long.
- New format AGAIN, too much changing the rules.

Just to clarify this format is simpy for THIS meeting. We will then revert to the normal system starting at 8pm GMT.

HOWEVER if enough people like how this ONE OFF goes then we may use it for the rest of the season starting at 8PM.

just a thought but top gears on every week so would it not make more sense to use it all the time?

We need to know what EVERYONE wants for this next race, so we can take action. If this does go ahead, then the next question would be if people want to keep the system.

Anyway, for now, just vote on what you want for the NEXT race only!!!

I voted yes but I think we should get at least 2-3 more laps.

This system is proving to be popular so if we do change this I think most people would prefer say , a 8 or 10 lap qualifying session with 6 or 8 hot laps.But as Marchie said this is ONLY for the next race.We can dicuss the matter of potential changing of the system next week after we've seen how well it works.

im up for it but dont make it a ten lap or then its just the same as having heat but you wont be getting points for them. i think 6 laps then you have 4 hot laps and since we wont be using the lobbies for the mains race you could use the last lap as a hot lap too.

This is all good but as has been said we will just be using it for this next race first because of TG.

Achill I understand your concern but remember tht the races regularly go on well after 9 and sometimes beyond 10. If we run just one race this weekend we lots of time.

maybe.... i'm not out, so i have to race when you want, 8vs.1 should be clear...

we will see, but getting into bed late and stand up at 5:30 GMT isn't really good...

i love the first advantage! but sinc im kinda busy alot, i have top gear as a scheduled recording on my DVR. i wish they made it in HD though.
