Needing Help???

Postby Jimmy Storie on Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:28 pm

Just thought i would add my bit regarding tuning.

Firstly, in Achills post he's given the link to the setup calculator, use this as its a great way to start. You soon get an idea of how a car should be tuned after using it a few times and will set you on the path of tuning your own cars, which in this game is a must.

Secondly, dont spend a fortune on buying over priced cars someone is selling through the forza community, it might be ok at the start but not everyone drives the same so this method is not ideal.

Thirdly, dont be scared. That sounds a bit daft but is true for most cases. Dont brick it if your playing online and veterans come in the room, stay & play, you will learn from them; especially if you ask questions or ask them for advice. You'll find most people are pretty accepting of learners and are normally more than happy to lend a hand.

Finally, put the hours in. Yer bird might be shouting at you or the kids screamin, tell them to shut it, get some me time and use it to practice. As the saying goes practice makes perfect ( we all know that no ones perfect ), might not do that, but it certainly wont do any harm and you will see the benefits.

Hope this kinda helps, if not, tell me to shut it.

See, my missus is regularly doing 40-50 laps a day when shes round here, so its actually more of a hassle getting to drive myself.
TBH I'm not amazing when it comes to tuning but I think I can at least get a car to handle how I want it to. Its quite suprising how much of a difference small changes makes in this game, you wouldnt think it does but some alterations can equal a marked change in the handlig of the cr...in my case usually bad!
Try and try again is the best advice I can give.

I did Chuy and it made a bit of a difference :) Is just getting the braking balance right now. had it set so the back end was stepping out on heavy braking...noticed it a wee bit at Silverstone but ALOT at the last couple of races. Going to fiddle with that now.
