British GT Feed
M&M Racing have decided to branch out into various forms of motor sport and the British GT Championship seemed to be the next logical step. Both Richy59 and Ianmr were looking forward to racing in a season that is fun and competitive.
After seeing how well the series was run last year and having seen the close racing and results that were provided the team decided that they wanted to be a part of the action.
Since this is the teams first venture into GT racing they decided that they wanted to use a car that would be consistent rather than competitive so that they could get used to the style of racing.
Many phone calls were made and many meetings took place but the team finally got the car they were after, a Porsche 911 Turbo. Ianmr ran the car through its paces early to find out just what it could do.
After many test sessions the car was ready to run with Ianmr behind the wheel, but a major sponsorship deal fell through at the last minute and the car had to be benched for the first two races of the season.
Eventually after securing some smaller sponsors the car made its first appearance for the 3rd race fo the BGT.
In the 3rd and 4th rounds of the season Ianmr managed to claim a top ten finish in each race with a 9th position at Sunset Infield and an 8th at Mugello.
In light of these performances the teams original sponsor Vodafone decided that they wanted to give us the backing that the team needed. Some deals were made and Vodafone once again became the major sponsor of M&M Racing.
The teams old livery that was used in other championships was applied to the Porsche and the team was revitalized with the winning desire that they had gained from previous forms of racing.
Ianmr ran the new car with a new setup at the 6th round at Road Atlanta. He qualified well and was racing for the top positions throughout. The race was dominated by Ultimate Motorsport but he managed to secure his best finish to date with 6th place.
The team was now sitting 10th overall in the Team Championship Standings and Ianmr was also sitting in 10th position in the overall Driver Standings.
Very impressive results for his first season of the BGT and after having missed the first two races of the season.
Laguna Seca was the next race on the calander and the car was not well suited to the track to be up to the pace of the much faster teams like Ultimate Motorsport and X3R.
A decision was made and the team decided to field a second car for the remainder of the second season of the BGT. Another Porsche was brought in and Richy59 took to driving the car.
The second car was supposed to be left until the next season but in order to get more points for the Team Championship the car release was brought forward.
The decision paid off. After some very close racing Ianmr kept up his high standards and finished in 6th position again. Richy59 was not fast around the track but he was involved in some very close racing between the two rival Vodafone backed cars, finishing behind one and infront of the other.
The team now sits in 7th position overall, equal to Sparco GT and now slightly infront of Vodafone THR.
The team is looking forward to the remainder of the season and the rule changes for Season 3.

BTCC Feed
Since M&M Racing's background is touring car racing the team has also decided that they want to be a part of the supporting BTCC series.
The team will be running a pair of MINI Cooper S JCW cars. This makes a change from our usualy partnership with Honda, who supply us with Integras for other championships.
The Cars made their debut at Sebring, showing good pace and scoring a podium position in each of the rounds. Ianmr scored 3rd place in the first race of the evening with a confident drive in an unknown car.
In the second race it was Richy59s turn to take to the podium but the main reason for this was the controversial collision in the second corner of the race, in which Luckier squeezed Ianmr onto the grass and the two of them went sliding to the outfield, letting all the other drivers through.
Richy59 picked up 2nd postion in the final race thanks to Ianmr and Luckier coming together again on the final corner and Marchie hitting the wall in the same turn.
Overall a good race meeting for debut BTCC Team who are looking forward to racing in the next few rounds.
